70 gsm Uncoated Letterpressed Paper
Our letterpress paper labels predominately used indoors. Popular for wedding labels and other prestigious events, our letterpress labels will certainly impress. When printed you will notice a slight embossing of images and text, an effect only achieved with the letterpress process.
We print letterpress labels using Pantone Inks. You will need to setup your artwork with the correct inks specified. We do not print halftones or tints on the letterpress, only solid blocks of colour and text. Ensure hairlines are set to a 1pt minimum as thinner lines can be broken during the printing plate exposure. If you require any help, please call us to ensure you understand this process.
Our letterpress paper labels come in both a permanent and removable adhesive. The permanent adhesive is used when you do not need to remove the label after application. After a short period of time, the permanent adhesive bonds with the surface and it gets more difficult to remove. The removable adhesive is used for temporary labelling only. The adhesive will not adhere strongly making them easy to remove without leaving any residue. Ideally stuck to smooth surfaces such as book and magazine covers. The removable adhesive is not recommended for lapel labels/stickers as the adhesive is not quite strong enough, you would require permanent adhesive but we always advise testing some samples first to ensure they work with your garments.

Size & Bleed
Always set your artwork up at the correct size, it makes it easier for everyone involved. If any of your design bleeds of the edge of the label, ensure you add at least 2mm on artwork extra on each edge of the label.
We print using Pantone® Colours only. You will more than likely need a professional graphic designer to setup your letterpress label artwork. There are many thousands of Pantone® colours that you can choose from, you will need a Pantone® swatch book to go from which your local designer should have in his possession. Remember to not use tints of colour, only use solid colours when designing for letterpress.
We advise you to set your resolution to a minimum of 350dpi at actual size. This ensures that all text and graphics when printed are legible. We will usually let you know if we feel that a design will not be legible before we go to print. This is however your own responsibility as we cannot always tell from the artwork file.
CMYK 100% Black
When setting up black text, always use the CMYK colour mode as discussed earlier. You will need to ensure all text is made from 100% Black only and not a mix of RGB or CMYK colours. We can not be held responsible if your artwork is set-up incorrectly and text doesn't print as crisp as it possibly could do. We provide these artwork guides to ensure you get the best possible print. Feel free to discuss any artwork requirements with us.
